From what you have to what you need.
You work directly with Bread or Barter. We learn about your business, look at what it can offer, and explore whether there's an arrangement that works well for both of us.
Four simple steps
It's a straightforward conversation between your business and Bread or Barter, built around what your business already has.
Every arrangement is individually reviewed and voluntary. Applying doesn't guarantee approval or any specific arrangement.
-
Tell us about your business
Apply through our Join page. You'll share basic information about your business, what it does and where it operates.
-
Share what your business can offer
Products, services, gift certificates, selected inventory, professional skills or available capacity. You decide what you're willing to offer.
-
Explore opportunities with Bread or Barter
We review your business and consider what services or opportunities may be appropriate in exchange for the value you offer. We discuss the possibilities with you privately.
-
Agree on an arrangement that works for both parties
If we both agree, we move forward on terms each of us has accepted. If it isn't the right fit, there's no obligation.
A practical, private process
One relationship
Every arrangement is between your business and Bread or Barter, discussed directly and privately.
Your decision
You choose what to offer and whether an arrangement works for you. Participation is always voluntary.
Clear terms
Before anything moves forward, both parties agree on what is being exchanged and on what terms.
Individual review
Every application and every arrangement is reviewed on its own merits.
Cash stays available
Putting other business value to work can help keep more cash available for your business needs.
Room to be noticed
Accepted trade value may sometimes support community promotions that recognize your business.
- Applications are reviewed individually, and approval isn't guaranteed.
- What may be accepted depends on your business and what you offer.
- Gift certificates should have clear terms, including any expiration and whether they're transferable.
- Barter is generally taxable at fair market value. Businesses remain responsible for their own tax and accounting obligations, and Bread or Barter may provide required reporting information where applicable.
